Present

At the moment, Les Pattounes Heureuses is no longer able to meet the growing number of requests to take in animals in need, mainly due to a lack of suitable spaces that provide safe housing and easy access to nearby veterinary care.

Our project directly addresses this issue by providing several large aviaries (over 50 m² each). It also tackles another major challenge commonly faced by animal welfare organizations: achieving financial sustainability.

By acquiring this first property, we will be able to establish a boarding facility within the existing building, with more than 100 m² dedicated exclusively to this activity. The remaining areas will be used for storage, administration, and routine maintenance.

This boarding facility will become the financial cornerstone of the association, allowing us to reduce our dependence on donations alone. It will ensure a steadier cash flow to cover the many veterinary bills that accumulate each month, while also securing the long-term sustainability of both our organization and our future projects.

The Project

The acquisition of this property and the opening of the boarding facility represent the first step toward creating Le Refuge du Bonheur (“The Refuge of Happiness”), a sanctuary and meeting place for both human and non-human animals.

We envision it as a peaceful, welcoming environment where individuals from different species can live together in harmony. It will also serve as a venue for conferences, discussions, round tables, a library dedicated to animal ethics, exhibitions, and literary and artistic creation.

Together, we want to help change the world and make it a better place for every individual.

However, Le Refuge du Bonheur can only become a reality after several years of operating our boarding facility, which will provide a stable and sustainable source of income, enabling us to invest in a larger site in the future.

This first stage is therefore crucial—not only for the animals who will need our help in the months and years ahead, but also for all those who will follow. We will only be able to support them by becoming as financially independent as possible.

To make this vision a reality, we first need significant initial support, which is why we have launched this fundraising campaign.

The Location

We plan to establish our boarding facility in Corbeil-Essonnes, close to our trusted veterinary clinic, Exotic Clinic in Nandy. Demand for boarding services for exotic companion animals (NAC – Nouveaux Animaux de Compagnie, or “new companion animals”) has been steadily increasing in the area, and we have the experience and expertise needed to provide this service with the highest standards of care.

Initially, the boarding facility will welcome rabbits, with the possibility of expanding to small rodents in the future.

Because we believe that every animal deserves the same level of care and well-being, regardless of their guardian’s financial means, all boarding enclosures will be spacious and of a standardized size. The amount paid by a family will never determine the quality or size of the accommodation provided to their companion.

Below the boarding facility lies 1,000 m² of green space, where we will be able to care for the many animals abandoned each year. During the warmer months, they will enjoy plenty of fresh leaves from the fruit trees to nibble on!

It is important to us that everyone has the opportunity to offer the very best to their animals, whatever their financial circumstances.

The setting is one of the property’s greatest strengths. Peaceful and surrounded by trees, it is tucked away from the road while remaining just minutes from the town centre, the RER station, and all essential amenities. This unique combination of accessibility and tranquillity makes it the ideal location for this important new chapter in the story of Les Pattounes Heureuses.
