Who are we?

An association under the 1901 law, Les Pattounes Heureuses takes in individuals in need within foster families and supports them towards adoption. Soon, with your support, Les Pattounes Heureuses will also become a sanctuary, offering refuge to a larger number of individuals.

The respect for each sentient being is at the heart of the association’s values. It promotes positive education for each rescued individual while also considering the interests of all others.
To be sentient means to be capable of experiencing subjective experiences, either positively or negatively.

How to support Les Pattounes Heureuses?

To help us, you can:

  • Use the Lilo search engine for free in your daily life to help us collect drops of donations.

What are the adoption conditions?

Each individual taken in by the association joins their new family being:

  • microchipped,
  • vaccinated,
  • dewormed (against worms, ticks, and fleas),
  • spayed or neutered if an adult,
  • fitted with a harness and leash if it’s a dog,
  • and of course, treated if any health issues have arisen

Each adopter commits to:

  • to be caring towards the adopted individual and to use only positive reinforcement training,
  • to never abandon the adopted individual anywhere other than with us, and to contact Les Pattounes Heureuses if they wish to separate,
  • to have the adopted individual spayed or neutered if they are a young animal who is not already.

Finally, each individual has their own specificities, personality, background, and needs: we thank you for reading their personal post in detail before making any adoption inquiries. Our criteria are not fixed (except for the requirement of kindness!) but depend on each individual in order to maximize their happiness.

Currently, the donation/adoption fees are 390 euros for the adoption of a dog and 240 euros for the adoption of a cat or rabbit, payable in installments.

Is it possible to meet the animals available for adoption?

Meetings are, of course, possible before committing for life, but only after the adopter’s application has been accepted. This approach helps prevent wasted time and travel for rejected applicants, as well as reduces the number of stressful visits for the animals and foster families.

How does an adoption work?

Our adoption process takes place in three steps:

  • an online questionnaire,
  • a phone interview,
  • a home visit to the adopter’s residence.

What are the association’s expenses? Why are adoptions not free?

The main expenses of the association are as follows:

  • veterinary expenses (routine care plus occasional and unpredictable treatments that can sometimes be very costly),
  • transport costs (pickup, transport equipment, veterinary appointments, adoptions),
  • material expenses (leash/harness set for each dog; common accessories – bowls, toys; installations – kennels, fencing, etc.),
  • food expenses (kibble, treats),
  • administrative costs (insurance, accounts, mail, phone, etc.).

Our aim is non-profit, our management is selfless, and all funds raised are used to help the animals in our care.

Why are there young animals available for adoption? Do we engage in breeding?

If there are young animals available for adoption, they come from rescues: we do not breed animals and advocate for spaying and neutering for humans who have become overwhelmed by the situation and have entrusted us with puppies, kittens, or other young animals. We make spaying and neutering mandatory for all animals in our care.
